There will be no cracks in the ASTM standard A588 Grade C steel cutting process, and the incision thickness is 0.1-1.1mm. If the diameter of the inner hole of the sand nozzle increases, the incision will also increase. There will be no deformation or micro-cracks in the cutting process, and good edge quality can be obtained.

Oxygen (O) is a harmful element in steel such as ASTM standard A588 Grade C steel. Although manganese, silicon, iron and aluminum are added to deoxidize the steel at the end of steelmaking, they can not be removed completely. During the solidification of molten steel, the reaction of oxygen and carbon in the solution will produce carbon monoxide, which can cause bubbles. Oxygen mainly exists in the form of FeO, MnO, SiO2, Al2O3 and other inclusions in the steel, which reduces the strength and plasticity of the steel. Especially, it has serious influence on fatigue strength and impact toughness.

The toughness of steel such as ASTM standard A588 Grade C steel is the ability of steel to absorb energy in the process of plastic deformation and fracture, and also the ability of steel to resist impact load. It is related to and different from the plasticity of steel. It is the comprehensive performance of strength and plasticity. The strength plasticity index of steel is obtained by static tensile test. When these indexes are used to bear the dynamic load structure, there are obvious limitations.
